Tradition and quality in the fourth generation
We are a family-run, medium-sized sawmill with around 30 dedicated employees. Our roots go back to the company’s founding by Johannes Bachmann, who initially began trading in spruce round timber, spruce pulpwood, beech firewood and coal.
His son-in-law Kurt Dörbaum successfully continued the round timber business until the company switched to sawmill operations in 1985. Since then, the company has been managed by Hans Dörbaum, who built up the sawmill in its third generation with his wife Margitta.
Today, Hans Dörbaum and his son Marc jointly manage the company as managing directors, continuing the family tradition in its fourth generation.
Today, we specialise in the processing and refinement of beech wood. Our raw material comes from sustainably managed local forests. Cutting is carried out on a vertical band saw and a full-width saw. After technical drying in modern drying chambers, around 50% of production is further processed on a high-precision Raimann edging machine – either in a steamed or unsteamed finish.
We manufacture scantlings and rectangular cuts exactly to customer specifications – with precision craftsmanship, modern technology and intergenerational expertise.company page
